Many are the grasses able to stand alone
For they offer sufficient glory of their own.
A style statuesque, commanding as a feature,
Set in a clump they are picturesque, appearing neater.
Some are wispy, without a head,
Others are full commanding in the flower bed.
Bending and swaying in the soft breeze,
Ornamental grasses act as if replicating the trees.
Mostly golden, brown, buff and tan
A few are bleached white as if their colour ran far away.
Striking when remaining vibrant and green
Colour may be enhanced when flashes of purple are seen.
Softly edging a path, border or lawn
A garden without such grasses may well look forlorn!
Lord, for the colour and stature of ornamental, grasses, which add so well to the atmosphere, I praise and thank You. Grasses delight us. With their commanding height and continuous movement, they add decoratively to any garden. Thank You again! Amen.
